Every line of NCERT matters.
A textbook holds far more learning than students ever access. Our mission: extract every educational signal hidden inside it — and solve it.
NCERT hides reader-directed questions inside its running prose — most students never even notice them, and no official solutions exist. We extract every one and solve it.
“Can we, hence, say that calling the biosynthetic phase the ‘dark reaction’ is a misnomer?”
Answer
- ▸Yes — ‘dark reaction’ is a misleading name.
- ▸The biosynthetic (Calvin) phase does not require darkness at all.
- ▸It simply doesn’t use light directly — it runs on the ATP & NADPH made by the light reaction.
- ▸So it proceeds in light or dark, as long as ATP and NADPH are available.
⚠ Common trap
✗ Myth: The ‘dark reaction’ happens at night / only in the dark.
✓ Fact: It can run in light or dark — it just doesn’t use light photons directly.
…and that's one question. Our Biology book — Zeedlings — solves 180+.
They extract 3 things. We extract 11.
